How life at Nurturing by Nature West Moors has adapted

We speak to the founder of Nurturing by Nature - Nettie

I have to say –

I am extremely proud of the business that we have today, especially of everyone’s outstanding efforts during the current Covid 19 situation.

the whole team at Nurturing by Nature has pulled together to deliver and adapt in these strange times.

Making raw since 2004!

Because of Fred in 2004 Nettie started Nurturing by Nature, It was intended to help her Boxer Fred and went on to feed dogs around the area - we now help dogs all over the uk!

It is sometimes hard for me to imagine that all of this first started in my kitchen and I am especially proud of the fact we have stayed true to our values. We have worked hard with our suppliers over the years to build trusted relationships through site visits and factory tours and at the time this may have seemed a little over the top now these relationships have allowed us to maintain the consistent high quality supply of ingredients into our business that you are used to.

We are proud of the consistant high quality of the food we produce.

We are in an industry that is sadly ok with using inferior quality products such as rendered meats and cereals that whilst on a loose term sound healthy couldn’t be further from this claim.

A major reason that Nurturing by Nature started was due to my basic mistrust of manufactures. Especially within the pet food market.

Alongside these relationships we were lucky to have the foresight to stock up on our basic cleaning and PPE supplies at the beginning of 2020, seeing us through to the end of May where, although a little more expensive most things are available again.

We have all had to adapt for this!

The change for me in the shops were a little bit like going back in time! Having one customer in the shop has really allowed me to reconnect with you again which, dare I say it I have enjoyed. Keeping my hands off the dogs and puppies is a little hard but I am happy we can continue our weight check and food consulting service albeit at a safe distance. Booking time slots for collections and shopping has also been useful, how great is it that you can turn up to the shop and just pick your order up at a certain time as we have it ready for you!? We have had positive feedback on the service so we will continue to adapt it and improve it and eventually create a diary booking system as we develop the business.

Thank you to you all too for being so patient, adhering to our requests to sanitise your hands on entry and continuing to support Nurturing by Nature. I am incredibly proud to say that we were also able to deliver to your home to those of your who choose this service. We have adapted so quickly with almost a 300% increase overnight for our delivery service (both local and DPD) Our new dispatch centre at Upton could not have come at a better time - only being used from the beginning of the year all the team have worked solidly through this crisis. We have had 4 vans on the road delivering locally.

It goes without saying that production has also had to increase, the customer service team have had to adapt - it’s not easy working from home, I know!
