In our latest blog we are looking at a recent part of our growth plan. Nurturing by Nature has been looking to grow its reach in the local area, but with various issues hampering our efforts we were considering our options, when an opportunity came along that was too good to be true.
We heard about the opportunity to take up residence at one of our favourite spots in Dorset, so we had to act fast but grasped it with both hands.
One of our customers who ran the Animal Feed Store at Pamphill Dairy made the decision, after many years, to move on and embark on the next stage of their life plans. So, on hearing this news we spoke to the key personnel at Nurturing by Nature, who all agreed that we should do everything we could to take on this premises and turn it into the next amazing retail shop for the Nurturing by Nature family.
Emma Platt, Business Director said,
“We saw the opportunity and wanted to take it. We see huge potential to make this store the greatest yet as it’s the largest, allowing us to offer a wider range of raw feeding related products, as well as continuing to service the previous customers of the store with the pet food they currently get”.
Pamphill Dairy, as touched upon above, is one of our family’s favourite spots to visit on days off with our children. Emma, one of the owners used to visit when she was little with her nana. It’s such a lovely space with amazing facilities and a great place to go for a (dog friendly) walk in the stunning Dorset countryside.
The ethos of Pamphill Dairy and its tenants aligned so perfectly with the ethos we maintain here at Nurturing by Nature. We felt it was a match made in heaven.
Pamphill Dairy is an idyllic spot nestled in the village of Pamphill, just outside of Wimborne Minster. The family run business has flourished for many years and is a collective of the finest in local produce, farm shop, café, butchery and artisans, making it one of Dorset’s best loved places to visit all year round.
Pamphill Dairy was originally a dairy farm as part of the Richards dairy enterprise based at Chilbridge Farm. The cows used to cross the B3082 from their grazing fields over to Pamphill, where they were milked in the parlour. In the 1980’s it was decided that the buildings at Pamphill were no longer suitable and the road crossing was getting too dangerous, so it was converted into a farm shop by Jim and Wendy Richards in the early 1980’s. It started with selling fresh eggs from the cottage and over the last 40 years has developed into the establishment it is today. There has always been a farm shop, café and butchers and we have always focused on supporting local brands, independent suppliers and sourcing local produce from our own and neighbouring counties.
So, a few weeks ago we took possession of the keys and started clearing the space ready to introduce the Nurturing by Nature range of pet food. We obviously have a focus on raw dog food and cat food, as well as a huge range of natural dog treats and the extremely popular bird feeds. And on the 4th of July 2022 we opened our doors to the public.
There is still a lot to do to convert this space into the space we envisioned, but we will continue to work hard to constantly evolve this retail space into exactly what we, and more importantly, what our customer want from us.
The Nurturing by Nature team situated at Pamphill Dairy will be Ness, Louise and Liane. This will ensure that we always have one of our most senior retail staff members on hand to help answer any raw feeding questions our visitors may have.
Ness, Senior Branch Supervisor said,
“We are excited to spread the word and expand the Nurturing by Nature community. We are especially excited to meet all of the new local and visiting pet owners, providing them with the very in raw dog food and cat food products, as well as delivering the highest levels of customer service possible.”
Ultimately, this is an amazing opportunity that everyone at Nurturing by Nature are hugely excited about and we all look forward to spending the future being part of the Pamphill Dairy Collective, alongside the Butchery, Farm Shop, Wimborne Picture Framing, Mirror Mirror Hair Design, The Nest Clothing and Homeware, Happy Stitcher Fabric and Craft Shop, Renee Bespoke Gifts and Allen Valley Milk.
